Posting Threads :
  • To post a new thread, first you have to go into the forum that you wish to post the new thread into.
  • Once you are in that forum, you need to click on the "New Thread" button found above and below the thread list.
  • Once the new thread page loads, you enter the subject of the thread in the box next to "Thread Subject."
    • You can also select a post icon that will show next to your post and in the thread listing, as well as other post options, such as whether you wish to show your signature or not.
  • Now, you need to add a message to your thread! Type your message in the "Your Message" box.
    • You can add formatting to your post by using MyCode, through the MyCode buttons above the message box. You can also add emotions to your post with smilies. You can see all available smilies with the Smilies Popup
  • Select any post options you like :
    • Signature : Select this to display your signature under the post.
    • Disable Smilies : If you do not want smilie codes to be parsed, select this option
  • Select whether you would like to not subscribe to the thread at all, receive instant email notification of new replies to the thread, or subscribe to the thread, but with no email notification.
  • You can optionally add a poll to the thread.
  • Once you are satisfied about all the options, you may select one of the buttons:
    • Post Thread : This will post the thread to the forum.
    • Preview Post : If you want to see what your post will look like, click this button.

USING MyCode TO FORMAT YOUR POSTS :

MyCode is used to format posts in MyBB. If you know HTML, MyCode will not be a problem. MyCode is enclosed in square brackets: [ ]
There are several types of MyCode :
Code:
* Those with an opening tag and a closing tag like the bold tag : [b]text[/b]

    * Those with only one tag: [hr]

    * Those with attributes within the tags: [font=Comic Sans MS]This will be in Comic Sans MS[/font]

    * Those that need an opening tag, a closing tag, and tags in the middle (such as in lists)

    * There is Custom MyCode

MyCode Quick Reference and Practical Use of some in a Thread :

Quick Reference (Click to View)
Bold, Italics, Underline, Strikethrough (Click to View)
Font Size (Click to View)
Font Face (Click to View)
Font Color (Click to View)
Text Alignment (Click to View)
General Code (Click to View)
Adding Images (Click to View)

POSTING REPLIES TO THREADS :

To post a reply, you can use either quick reply or the new reply page.

Posting a Quick Reply :

To use quick reply, the administrator must have it enabled in the forum. Also, you must have it enabled in your User CP. If it is enabled, it will show up at the bottom of each page in the Thread Display. You type your message in the message area, and the click "Post Reply." Posts posted by quick reply are added using AJAX, allowing for your reply to be posted without the reloading of the page. If there were posts between the time you loaded the thread and the time you made your reply, the page will be reloaded when you post your reply. If your reply would result in a new page to the thread, you will be taken to the new page after posting your reply.

If you have selected posts to quote using the Multiquote, you will have the option to quote them or deselect them. Choosing to quote them will have them loaded into the textarea using AJAX, without the reloading of the page.

Posting a Full Reply :

Using the New Reply page is exactly the same as posting a new thread, except you have to go into a thread and instead click on the "New Reply" button found at the top and bottom of each thread. Also, the poll options are removed.

FEW IMPORTANT DO's AND DONT's FOR REPLYING TO MEMBERS THREADS ON CHF :

DO's AND WHAT GENERALLY IS EXPECTED FROM FELLOW MEMBERS :

* Most of the Posters Do take Great Care and Pain to Create and Provide Quality, Useful Threads for your Benefit.Hence it would be a Great Encouragement and Motivation If you Post a Simple Useful Reply for their Posts!

* Constructive Criticism, Suggestions, Pointing out Errors Etc would Really Help the Poster to Not Just Improve his current Thread But also for Creating Better Improved Threads In the Future.

* Your Opinion Regarding the concerned Post, Recommending a Good Post, Pointing out Dead Links, Fake or Malicious Posts Etc would be of Great help for the Next Person Reading the Post.Just Think and consider how you would feel to find Good or Bad warning Before Trying or Downloading some thing...The same Applies to all Other Members. So do Contribute so that the community can Contribute back to you.

* Report Dead Download Links, Spam Threads or Posts, Scam Threads and all those that you Genuinely Feel is in the Bad Interest of the whole community and Against the forum Rules. This would not Just help the Moderators to Remove Unwanted Posts,But also You as more and more Quality threads are maintained while waste Posts are Removed and Errors corrected.

* Say a Thanx along what you Felt and whether or not the concerned Thread Helped you.It does mean a Lot to not Just the Poster But also to the Great Majority of our Friends and Fellow Members.

DONT's AND WHAT NOT TO DO WHILE REPLYING :

* Kindly Refrain From simply Quoting the whole Thread In you Reply and Just adding Thanx at the End!!Use the quote Option to Highlight a Part of the thread Regarding which you wish to add Useful Criticism or Provide your Opinion and Input.Simply Quoting a Complete Thread isn't Just a waste of Space But also Really Irritating and Prevents other members from being able to see the other Members Replies.Just think how you would like if you had to Scroll through 5 or more Pages to find some thing Useful??Everyone would feel the same.Be considerate for others.

* Spamming is absolutely not Tolerated on CHF.If you want to Spam Kindly Do that on your own House walls or even on your own Face or Ass for all we care!!!But not in our Forum.Take your Monkey Ass Else where. We are not a Graffiti wall Nor a Modern Rubbish Art forum. So Please Fuck Off!!If you wouldn't Draw on your own House walls,Nor on your Parents Face,Nor even write Rubbish on your Face or Any thing that's yours,What the Fuck are you doing by spamming in our community?

* Kindly don't Post "Thanxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" or "Thankkkyyyyyoooooouuuu" or "asdfghjklqwerty" or "123456789" or "zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" or "thx......................." or ",,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,," etc...It would be a Really Huge List Guys!!!Most of us Hardly see all of them cos of the tireless and Dedicated work by the Admins, Staff, MoD's anf Few Really Helpful Members who constantly work to Clean,Edit,Remove unwanted Posts and keep CHF Clean. All these Behind the Scene work is what helps to Keep CHF the way it is.Kindly Post useful Replies!!Think even for a Sec.would my Reply really be Useful to me or to the Friend or member who will read next and then Post.Show Respect and the community will Respect you.You Decide, are those replies Useful or are they Like Spam???

Hee...Hee...What to do Dark Bro.You Really Got to see the Amount of Spam Senior Staff Removes Daily Bro.!!OMG!!They Really work so Hard to Maintain the forums Top Quality!!!I spent 3 Days Cleaning up Spam Replies to My Threads and I don't even have That many Threads in the first Place.Hope this Thread Helps New Members to Easily Familiarize with all the Options on CHF and some Do's and Dont's while Replying.I do Really wish People would In fact Post Good,Useful Replies and Recommend Good quality Posts to Other Members Bro...That way Not Just the Thread would Remain Alive But also it would Really be more Easier for all Members to Benefit From Quality Tutorials.
